Mott is an optimist by nature. He believes that collectively we can overcome our ignorance, and transcend our cultural and tribal differences, and that we can become a truly enlightened species. He is, however, still struck by the absurdity of human behavior, particularly his own, and finds it necessary to express those thoughts.
